Where did you study art or how did you train?:

I have a diploma in graphic design and a diploma in animation and game design. I have always been a natural illustrator from a young age and it's one of those talents that seeps in to everything I do at some point!

Who are your biggest artistic influences?:

My biggest influences would be James Jean, Frank Frazetta, graffiti & hip hop culture, old hand drawn cartoons and reading Heavy Metal Magazine in my youth.

How would you describe your artistic style?:

Illustrative using fluid, clean lines and bold colours.

What themes or subjects do you most frequently explore in your art work?:

I am forever captivated by the curvaceous beauty of the female form and it often makes it's way into my work. Flora, fauna and fantasy are big players to.

Have you won any awards or participated in any exhibitions?:

My work has been exhibited at Saint Cloche, MTV Gallery, the cover of Desktop Magazine and in mixed shows in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.

Do you have a memorable story or experience related to your art?:

I was drawing on my iPad as I do and my young son came over and scribbled all over my drawing. After my initial shock I looked at it again and realised it was actually beautiful. I kept his scribbles and hand painted the image with acrylics on a large canvass that now hangs in my family home. It is one of my favourite creations and reminds me of the energies that shift your world after becoming a mother and contains both of us in one picture that is beautiful.

Tell us about your first painted ArtBag. What was the inspiration behind this piece. What did you most and least enjoy about working on it?:

The inspiration behind the Christian Dior I chose to paint was the old hand drawn Fantasia movie that Disney did back in the 1940. I have vivid memories of the floral scenes from my childhood and I just think it's an illustrative masterpiece.

I enjoyed having full creative freedom to completely reinvent the look and feel of the bag. My biggest challenge was painting fine lines over a heavily textured surface.

See below for her collection of amazing ArtBag designs, which you can have applied to your very own bag. Camila is open for commissions, so start your journey today and be one of the lucky ones to carry Camilas amazing work on your arm.

Available to purchase from the 1st of December is this gorgeous Christian Dior bag custom painted by Camilia.
